Build It Pandemic Proof.

Coronavirus, the elephant in the room. A topic that’s hard to escape in 2020. Is it possible that the pandemic has made it easier to make money online? Yes and no. Some business models are clearly struggling, but others are EXPLODING.

As the #1 product vendors on all of Clickbank (an affiliate marketplace that has processed over 4 BILLION dollars in sales), we were recently invited to a virtual ‘mastermind’ with the Clickbank CEO along with a handful of other large volume sellers.

One of the things we learned in that mastermind was that Clickbank is breaking pretty much all of its own records this year. Digital product sales are BOOMING.

Think about that for a second… does that give you a clue about what might be an easier path to making money online?

Hopefully it does, because with digital product sales booming, there has genuinely never been a better time to sell them (as an affiliate).

But wait, what about the age-old business bottleneck, traffic?

Well, the reason digital product sales are booming is because search volume (website traffic) is up. Check this out:

What you’re seeing above is the search volume trend (taken from Google Trends website) for the past 5 years for the “how to treat acne” search term (USA traffic).

You can see a CLEAR increase in search traffic as soon as Coronavirus hits the western world.

Is this an anomaly?

No.

Take a look at the data for these search terms:

  • “how to build a desk”
  • “how to stop my dog barking”
  • “learn spanish online”

The same trend (this graph above shows search trends over the past 2 years).

We could dive into why search volume for certain keywords us up and come to some logical conclusions, but it really doesn’t matter, the point is, traffic is UP (across the board) ESPECIALLY on ‘information based search’, and this is a BIG DEAL for people who want to sell as an affiliate.

So generally speaking, traffic is UP, hopefully that’s clear.

But it gets even better for online marketers, because advertisers and competition are DOWN! With advertisers down, it means the cost to advertise is also down.

The Perfect One-Two Punch…

From an affiliate marketers standpoint, more traffic combined with less competition (lower costs) is the perfect one-two punch.

While it’s unusual for traffic to rapidly increase as we’ve seen this year, search traffic has been increasing year on year as more people turn to online solutions. Gradual traffic increase is not unusual, the rapid growth we’ve seen is however unprecedented.

What is also unprecedented is a reduction is advertising cost, in over 15 years of building online businesses, we have NEVER seen costs go down, they’ve only ever gone up, until now!

This is very VERY exciting.

  • More Traffic.
  • Less Competition.
  • Lower Costs.

But Wait, It Gets EVEN Better!

While the trends we’ve shared so far are good news for affiliate marketers, there’s even better news…

You see, while in general affiliate traffic and digital product demand is skyrocketing, there are certain niches that are exploding more than others.

What this means is that it’s EASIER to make money in some niches than others.
